CLE generally is a very reliable connecting point, especially from mainline to mainline, but ExpressJet cancels flights if there is a single snowflake in the air. I have traveled through CLE four times in the last three weeks, and two out of my four original ExpressJet flights ended up being canceled, one due to snow (ended up on an earlier flight, though) and one due to crew issues. Another problem is that they often cancel multiple flights in a row. For example, a few weeks ago during a mild snowstorm, the 7:35 DCA flight was not canceled, but the 8:40, 11:35, and later, the 2:45 were all canceled. Fortunately, I was able to get a seat on the 7:35. Last week, my original flight at 8:30 am was canceled, and there was no confirmable space until a 4:45 flight. Again, fortunately, I got the last seat as a standby on an 8:40 flight to an alternate airport.
