TG can't have too many of the old 747 left now, what is is one or two, so the odds of getting a aircraft change on Thai are disappearing. It's a shame actually as we had something to grumble about for so long, regards bkkrop
TG actually still have 6 744-2's with the old seats and 12 744-3's with new seats. The planes with the old seats are actually not that old as they were the latest addition of 744's to the TG fleet (delivered 1998-2003). TG for some reason decided to refurbish only the 12 planes with very old F and C (I am sure you all remember the classic dark-blue non-lie-flat F-seats without PTV from the 744-1's and 743's )

TG needs 4 744-2 to run daily round trips to ARN and CPH which leaves the last 2 a/c for 3xweekly to MAD, intra-Asian routes (PEK i.a) and for substitution on routes with 744-3's.

I did BKK-CPH in C last week and I really enjoyed the old F-seat. I tend to slide down in the new lie-flat seat when sleeping which is not a problem in this seat. The service was excellent with 4 FA's for only 14 pax. I also enjoy the roomy feeling of the old F-cabin in the nose of the 747.

Will do CPH-BKK and BKK-MUC (hopefully 744-3 as scheduled) both in C next week so I will get a chance to compare the two C-products again.

Cheers,
