It's an international convention used by all airlines (not so sure about China and Russia though!) that the flag is "backwards" on the other side, per the "flag flying in the wind" motif.

Still trying to work out if our aussie flag looks better reversed!

btw even better the flag is reversed on several models I have - now that is a good model!!
