The +1-404-714-2300 number is on the back of your sky-miles card, and will cost the same as the 880 service.
I have that one, it's just not SMS. I wasn't concerned about how much it costs because I have a really cheap int'l card. There are some numbers I may need to call (like SMS) that do not have an area code alternative.

I guess the answer is, wait and see if it works from Italy/France. I'll let you know when I get back.
