Thumbs Up to the BNE staff

I was flying back to CBR yesterday after a long weekend in BNE. My return booking was BNE-SYD-CBR on QF545 and QF883 as the direct flight QF961 had only full economy seats available when I made the booking.

I used OLCI and arrived at the airport around 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. I went up to the QP and shortly after I arrived there was an announcement that QF545 would be around 45 minutes late in departing. This created a little bit of angst for me as I had a 50 minute connection in SYD.

I went up to the QP counter and advised Steve of the potential connection problem. He said that he would see if I could transfer to QF961, which was just boarding, as although it was fully booked some pax had not checked in. I was fortunate as I only had hand luggage.

Steve rang through to the service desk and advised me to go out to the desk near Gate 22 and they would issue me with a boarding pass for QF961 if there was a seat available. After 2-3 minutes of waiting I had a new boarding pass issued with a smile and was sprinting down to Gate 20 and on to the direct flight.

I got into CBR around 100 minutes early thanks to the very helpful BNE QP and Cityflyer service desk!
