Could Downgrades become more common

I have noticed that CX are still selling up to 12 First Class on many 747's. Of course if all goes well and the flight is operated by the scheduled Old Configuration 747 then everybody is happy. But as more newly fitted 747's join the fleet, if the planned aircraft goes tech etc. and there is an aircraft change to a newly fitted 747, 4 people could end up being very upset.
