Isn't there a vapporetto that runs from VSL to someplace fairly close to the hotel? one would go counterclockwise from train sta to giudecca. i recall the 40 & 50 lines run by the boat docks.
Yes, the 41/42 and 51/52 stop at Giudecca as does the Hilton Launch. But those lines can be challenging for a first timer.
