Maybe if people really knew by way of some sort of display that they were for sure going to miss their connection they'd be more likely to raise a stink/cause trouble.
But the opposite is true as well.... if one knew that their connection was showing a delay, then they could relax. The way it is now, you have to assume it is on time.
