Mendocino's Heritage House

My partner and I are going to stay at the Heritage House in May, but only have time for one night. It's our first time in Mendocino. Are the Retreat II (contemporary) really $400 better than the Haven II (Contemporary) rooms?

Also, is the spa special? You know how some Hotel Spas are MUST visits like Banff Springs Hotel or Montage in Laguna, and other Hotel Spas add very little to the hotel experience? In other words, is it worth our brief time to schedule spa appointments, or is the spa just OK?

How about the hotel restaurant? Should we dinner there on our one night and then drive into town, or eat in town instead, and if so where?

THANKS!
