I don't have any info on the bus.............Not sure that would be the best way to go. Take the train from Stresa to Busto Arsizio, and from there you can catch the MXP train. You can be at MXP in less than 2.5 hours.
Taking a bus from Stresa down those winding roads along Maggiore would take way too long and if you're like me it'll make you really sick.
