What you have to think about it is how many seniority agreements do they already have -- going back to the pre Republic air days, on the NW side you have at least three airlines that come into play -- North Central, Southern, Northwest Orient.
Then do the same thing for the Delta side.

And just look at the mess at US where the pilots from the US side and former HP still are fighting over this exact issue. I am quite certain that this is one of the - many - major sticking points.
