I have flown LAX/SEA-TPE and back quite often on BR; enforcement seems poatchy, but it does happen.

I have had success in avoiding having my (over weight) 22" roll-aboard weighed by "effortlessly" picking it up with one hand to show it when asked.

Of course it takes a lot of effort to pick up a 20lb+ bag with one hand if you are a complete wimp like me, and even more effort to keep a fixed smile on my face so that it looks light as a feather - so it costs me the price of a stiff drink afterwards to recover

I guess that another approach would be to go to the gym so that it actually was effortless
