I just called VS, and it seems like VS/TG, VS/MH and VS/BR round the world combinations are no longer available. The VS agent quoted me a whopping USD7500 for VS/BR Business/Upper Class fare, as opposed to the USD3500 posted online. So the low prices are definitely not available. The only ones that are available are VS/NH and the Great Escape, which are both quite expensive in Business Class.
Does anyone know of any cheap round the world in Business Class ex-USA? Anything available for under USD5000?
Last time I looked the QF/LY J RTW was around $4950 ex-USA. You have to fly LY metal over the Atlantic and QF over the Pacific; you can do one backtrack from TLV-Europe and can add JNB (LY weekly) for $300 (IIRC) then QF to SYD from there. The US QF people were easy to deal with but wouldn't ticket eastbound itins from the US - they sent me to LY instead, and that was frustrating to the max.
