I tried to change the thread title of my "around Columbia U." in order to make it less restrictive to the immediate Columbia area. The forum would not permit changing the thread title, only the message body. Therefore, once again, I'm seeking restaurants that will allow leisurely dining and lingering over drinks, wine, coffee, dessert etc. Any cuisine is acceptable and please omit "tourist traps". Place should be able to accommodate up to a dozen persons who have not seen each other in many, many years...ie. long conversations that do not lend themselves to waiter hustling in order to turn the tables. Main thing is that the food and service are good. Area to be considered should be north of 72nd. Please provide estimate of cost pp. exclusive of drinks and wine.
