Got back today, and got my mail. I had a response from United on this letter I wrote to 1kvoice:
Hello,
In reference to PNR and ticket number .
I was travelling on flight 763 on the 26th. That flight was delayed and I rerouted to flight 156 to DTW and 485 to DEN. DEN was my final destination. A 500 mile upgrade was deducted for flight 763, which I never took. When the agent reconfirmed me, she took out a regional upgrade for the very short trip to DTW from ORD. This was a mistake and I would never consider using such a valuable upgrade instrument for such a short flight.
Consequently, my return flights were upgraded using the only remaining system wide in my account. I would have liked to used my regional upgrade which was taken from me on ORD-DTW. I called mileage plus earlier and was told it would be a couple of days and the upgrade would be recredited. It never was and it is almost a week later.
I would appreciate it if the system wide upgrade was redeposited into my account. Could you keep the 500 mile certificate for the ORD-DTW portion of my ticket and use the confirmed regional for the return portion that I am travelling on today?
I would also like to write about a seperate issue. I sent in a Skykit with a letter about a flight from IAD to TPA on December 18 last year. My audio jack was missing on this flight. I asked for a skykit and the flight attendant said he would get me one at the end of the flight. I slept for the better part of the flight instead of listening to Channel 9 and doing some work. I asked the purser for the skykit on my way out and he responded with "Why do you want it, you slept the whole damn flight." Nice way to talk to a customer, regardless of status. I have not received a response as of today.
I appreciate your looking into these matters.
The response I received was less than stellar.
Basically, we're sorry, you were told your upgrade will be deposited back in once the unused ticket is returned, and here is a $25 travel certificate. Nothing about speaking to the employee in question, or plans to fix the audio.... nothing.
Not to mention I take offense at this line, "You reported that the purser made a dismissive comment about the headphones when you deplaned in Tampa. I am willing to take you at your word that the incident happened as you described it." She might as well have said, 'Your version sounds false, but it is my job to take your word...'
Now-a-days, they have pads of skykits to just hand out. Now that the compensation is low, what incentive is there to fix things?
