Where exactly does it say this? Perhaps it varies with the property or at least the country? But you're paraphrasing, so I'm not sure.

Here is what it exactly says when I click on "Senior Discount" (while examining the available rooms on a specific date at a Holiday Inn in Anaheim, California): "Senior Discount rate is available for guests 62 years and older or with valid membership ID of a retired person organization. Proof of eligibility required at check in." (That is a cut and paste, not a retype, not a paraphrase.)

Please do a similar cut and paste of wherever you say you're seeing different wording, and please explain where you're cutting and pasting from.
