Anyway, I did some googling and based on other passengers experiences I decided the upper deck Y cabin was the place to be - the main reasons being better staffing levels and faster boarding. Also, as it's a daytime flight I'm not planning on getting much sleep so I'll try and get some work done on my laptop. Looking at photos I noticed there are storage compartments by the window seats, which I'm guessing would be ideal not only for my bags but also as a rest for my mouse. I'm right handed so this narrowed my choice to seats 71-82K and as most of these were taken I settled for 78K.
I'd be glad to hear others opinions, especially those of us that have had the opportunity to fly the A380.
TIA
Hi Tia,
I am also looking to fly on the A380 from SIN-LHR next month but I have not booked a flight yet. I have not flown the 380 yet but I saw the same seat chart on SQ's website. I agree, the rows you've mentioned above seem to be the best in Y as it will be quieter on the upper deck and notice that there is 2-4-2 seating at these rows so that means you are no more than one seat away from the aisle. The other feature to notice is ample room around the rear galley area and a circular stair at the back of the upper deck, which leads to the main deck.
Have a good flight!
