Don't worry. You didn't rain on the parade because flight 22 *does* follow that pattern.
It's a through flight from LAS-CDG, which makes a "stop" in ATL on the way. (at least this month. It may go somewhere else in June).
So, technically, your flight is the first leg of an international flight, just as the numbering scheme would suggest.
