This question is for dear friends of mine, trying to bring over her Mom for a visit. Last year, the husband called SAS and asked about sharing his miles to allow Mom an upgrade along with wife and was turned down. Both the wife and I have looked on the SAS website and can *not* find a rule for or against having the husband donate his (now-about-to-expire) miles for a June booking this year.

I've run a search here for SAS+donate, SAS+miles+donate and SAS+upgrade+sponsor, but no luck.

Is it possible for the husband to donate his miles to her Mom for their flight ORD-ARN in June? Or is this not permitted by SAS?
Yes, they are already aware that upgrading ORD-ARN can be a bit more difficult than ARN-ORD, but we're hoping they can manage that with enough advance notice.
