This happened to me & my colleague

(1) First incident

I was travelling from SIN-EWR and then connecting to FLL.

The immigration officer knew about my flight to FLL even though I was spending the night in EWR and will only be travelling to FLL the next day. He casually asked "So what time is your flight to FLL?" I was taken aback cos all my documents presented to him only mentioned EWR.

(2) Second incident

I travel into SFO alot cos I have friends there and it is easy to connect from Asia to the West Coast. I usually visit friends for a few days before heading off elsewhere for meetings/trainings/conferences etc. I have been asked by immigration before re the company I work for ie an American company. Each time I travel to the US even if it is a purely leisure trip, they always ask me about my job and the company I work for. I believe this information is stored somewhere in the recesses of their computers and it pops up whenever they scan my passport.

The incident that happened to my colleague:

(1) 1st trip to US in March last year. He was asked about the purpose of his visit and he mentioned that he was here for an interview.

(2) 2nd trip to US in May the same year for an international sales meeting. Again he was asked the purpose of his trip. His reply "for a sales meeting". The immigration officer's response was "Oh, so I guess you got the job!!"

From our experiences, we are sure that there must be some kind of recording device at the immigration booth!!!
