Do other carriers have the same policy, for example, how about oneworld?</font>
When you book a OneWorld award that needs AA to take you to a gateway city, AA will respect your class of service and transport you in the class you booked your award to final destination, provided space available, blah, blah.
Apparently Star Alliance way to circumvent this problem was creating the Star Alliance World chart, that unfortunately UA has not implemented it yet. Other carriers (LH, RG and AC-I believe) have already launched theirs and this is not a problem for their customers anymore. Furthermore these new awards let you fly one carrier one way and a different one (different route) or your inbound.
Anyone has any idea if/when UA will implement this kind of award ?
