I've seen how TSA inspects luggage with electronics items. I've seen them take out a laptop, open it up, drop it screen-side down into the plastic bin, then drop the bin on the belt for scanning, pick up the laptop with the guy's thumb pressed into the LCD screen and his other fingers squeezing on the back of the screen, then slam it shut, then put it back into a suitcase which may or not be the suitcase it came from.

I ship my stuff by FedEx. It costs more, but it's worth it to me.
