and I can assure you that what has worked before does not always work now - when I was in the travel industry it was 'common knowledge' that a bride could travel with her ticket in maiden name and passport in married ( or vice versa ) so long as she carried a copy of her marriage certificate ... 'common knowledge' right up until the time that it was not 100% ok which cost our company a substantial amount of money because we had told the pax 'of course it wont be a problem ' ,with the greatest of respect to eric123 ( who I am sure just wanted to put your mind at ease ) other peoples experiences are not always a safe bet - I am happy to hear that you persisted and eventually managed to swing a name change - that is a far safer option than assuming that it will be ok because someone else has done it before
