Used to be true of the Carlton and the Lowndes when they were Hyatts, as well. I felt out of place not having my personal driver waiting when I went out (and ooh, the cars). I and my son met a guy and his son who were living in the suite at the end of the hall in the Carlton. I think Hyatt has marketed well in the Middle East (notwithstanding the tragedy there a few years ago).
By the way, the Churchill seems to be right on par with the PH Vendome, price-wise -- and I'm not offering this as justification in any way. Just that they must be getting it.
