As a Plat (in OP's profile), I'd think a call to the Plat Hotline would easily find out if this is possible for his/her flight. And most times at the AC's the staff will work with you. Just had a great sleep on the FRA->ORD leg of a Feb MR - thanks to the great AC staff in FRA setting me up with a middle section - I'd forgotten about that option.
