Lisadiamond: If it makes you feel any better I was delayed ~ 8 hrs last Thursday out of ONT. My original flight included an aborted takeoff due to an airspeed indicator malfunction about 1/4 of the way down the runway and we're moving at 100 knots. We go back to the gate and deplane.

A quick call to the 1K line protects me on the LAX-BWI redeye. After a wonderful 1.5 hr bus ride from ONT to LAX in the middle of rush hour (even the UX ONT-LAX flights were booked) I go into the 1K room to see if there's anything better. Try as Tracie (in the 1K room and as previously reported she is wonderful) might nothing else was working. Most of the flights were booked solid. She gave me a very generous meal voucher. I ate dinner and killed time in the RCC.

They did their best and fed me, it was a mechanical failure and I still got home in time for a scheduled round of golf. However, I no longer recommend playing golf after flying the redeye.
