I've always read that you should only update the roaming list on your cellphone from your home area. I don't know about other carriers, but with Verizon it is *228 "send" then Option 2. In the old days this was important because the carriers weren't truly nationwide. A co-worker recently said that he always did the "update" function when he traveled to a new area of the U.S., and that this gave him better coverage, then he would update again when he returned to his home area.

Has anyone heard of this, and more important, has anyone done this with any success?
