While WPR's post was long, it flowed and did not dwell on details not central to his post. I've found that many of your posts ramble. My preference is for posts that get to the point quickly with a minimum of extra words.

Something along the lines of my first lesson in public speaking:
Be Standing
Be Brief
Be Seated

You usually won't be criticized for writing too little, while the converse does happen (as you've experienced).
