More on Manhattan-JFK transportation: The taxi fare FROM JFK to Manhattan is $35 fixed (no meter), plus tolls and tip. This fixed fare does NOT apply going TO JFK. In that case, the meter runs, and the fare can easily be $10 higher.

Personally, when paying the bill myself, I take the subway to JFK if I have the time.
