The regular meal in BE is much better than coach, and were I you I'd be using a PMU on the return leg as well. Although you're not trying to sleep, the flight is generally longer and the better food, availability of alcohol, space, and better video would be worth it to me. You'll still probably nap.
Yes, I agree. Go BE both ways. Heck, so many folks here are always complaining about never being able to use their PMUs. I don't have any trouble, but use em--don't lose em. The BE food is definitely better than coach--unless you order a special meal. Also, as yamakake points out, the whole experience will be better.

In fact, if you go to delta.com, and follow links to "traveling and check-in, in flight services, biz elite, during the flight, and then scroll to the bottom, you can see the BE menu options in both directions. Be careful to look at the options for the month you are traveling (they rotate every three, but all are listed), and, of course, be aware that substitutions can and do occur. None of this says if you will like it, but at least you have some clue as to what you will be getting.
