You make a good point. As an owner of my own business I know that all my customers are valued since their activities is earning me revenue.

It appears AC/Aeroplan is not very respectful of their customers which is evidenced by AC/Aeroplan's actions -- since they did not care to respond to faxes and phone calls directed to executives of the company.

AC/Aeroplan will say one thing while not really meaning it. They just use the term when it serves them. For example the link below starts off with an interesting salutation which I don't think many of us would believe in light of AC/Aeroplan's actions towards their frequent fliers over the past few years.

I agree, a phone call back, or some sort of response should have been done, but it seems that nothing gets done until it makes headlines (either in the news or on FT), as we've seen happen a few times in the past few months.
This is not the first time miles expiring has reached the press, and in my opinion, reflects poorly on an organization that claims to be "world-class".

If I was part of AC/Aeroplan, I would send an email 12 weeks prior to the miles expiring and then, should no activity occur, mail a letter through Canada Post 6 weeks prior to expiration, that is on unique letterhead to bring attention to the member that it is not the regular mailing.

This would then make AC/Aeroplan beyond reproach.

Yet AC/Aeroplan does not mail any notice out. Is that because they want and hope that the miles of their "valued customers" exprire?

Cheers
