Ameriprise Platinum Credit Card
My stock brokerage account was previously with American Express. With this account, if you had $500,000 or more, you would get a free Platinum AMEX card. This card was useful because you would receive complimentary access to participating American Airlines Admirals Club®, Continental Airlines Presidents Club, Delta Crown Room Club®, and Northwest Airlines WorldClubs® locations in airports around the world. Youl simply present the club agent with your Platinum Card, your ticket valid for same day travel on the corresponding airline that is operating the flight, and a government issued ID. Your spouse and children under age 21, or up to two traveling companions, may join you as guests in the club room.
However, since Ameriprise Financial last year took over the American Express Brokerage program, AMEX, since it is not affiliated with Ameriprise Financial, has just mailed a notice that they will now charge an annual fee of $450 next year for their card.
I'm told that Ameriprise will soon have their own Platinum credit card allowing free access to any airport lounge, even if you are not flying.
Does anyone have information about the Ameriprise credit card program as I couldn't find any additional info on the web?
