Not a bad plan, going public. This should loosen up a "back-room" solution to this problem, without exposing Aeroplan to every wingnut that's lost 100 points due to inactivity. As for the lame excuse that some allowance should be made because it's hard to book flights at an acceptable points level - gimme a break! Find the rules and learn the rules, period. Personally, I don't find the R & R onerous in any way - it's a freebie program, learn how it works, and how to milk it.
I've had occasion to send RD a private e-mail to ask for help to fix an obvious problem, and it was taken care of, out of the public eye. We both got what we wanted - he got a quiet resolution, and I got satisfaction. I suspect this solution will be resolved much the same way.
