I do not really understand the bad comments on IC BKK.
I stayed recently on breakpoints, was upgraded to newly renovated Club room wich is very nice.

No noise was heard (except sometimes beginning at 11 am, which is not exactly a problem).

The club lounge is superb, pool is nice (very happy to swim from 9pm to 10pm, after a long day walk into the city), service is simply excellent. Location is perfect (not only for shopping, as the skytrain station is in front of the hotel).

BKK is not only a shopping city. For those who want to go outside the touristic spots, you may find some very interesting places to visit:

I walked and lost myself in a plethora of small streets.
I was under a terrible storm by going to embark to Tha Thien Pier No. 8.
I had a delicious tea at Erawan Tea Room (just in front of the hotel).
I took a breath of oxygen to Lumphini Park, in the superb Suan Pakkad Palace, and the green Jim Thompson House.
I had a "panoramic drink" at V9 and Lebua at State Tower.
I played local tourist at Baiyoke Tower.
I was impressed by Khmer art of Wat Arun (rather than the royal palace).
I have been shopping at the superb club 21 and Playground! concept stores
I had an incredible massage at Ruen Nuad
I visited a beautiful photo exhibition at the H gallery (and it took quite a long time for me to find it out!)
I had dinner at Eat me (very nice and trendy), at the magnificent H1 (super architecture)
I had lunch many times at Bitter Brown Paper (cosy and very good), and I loved it!
I drank a delicous cocktail at the beautiful Met and at the incredible Superclub Bed.
