About to remove my SEN luggage tags, here's why:
with 10+ years SEN under my belt, I am about to toss the red luggage tags. Recently, I have been coming across too many fellow passengers in the cabins, who proudly present their 'achievement' tag on carry-on luggage, even if it is a mere FTL silver card.
As if SEN status (to achieve, that is) weren't a joke anyway.
Let me ask you folks: are you seriously displaying this to get some sort of attention or are you in need of some other respect from fellow passengers or airline personnel? I certainly see no benefit in the red tag on my checked in luggage, it hardly ever gets priority anyway and all it serves is as an identification tag with your name inside.
I no longer want to associate myself with people of the likes as my fellow passengers displaying "SEN' or "FTL" status on their carry on baggage. If I want to get appreciated, I give a smile to the person next to me, so 'un-german' as it seems. And I do not hang my current savings account balance sheet on my briefbag, nor my academic titles, achievements, trophies or even my business card.
