I agree, but in every job bad apples exist, you can never rid a huge company like UA of bad staff.
Every single large company will have several bad apples I am yet to find a company with will provide 100% outstanding service every single time. Whist it would be nice it just doesn't exist!
Having just flown 3 consecutive segments on SQ during my current RTW trip, I can tell you that SQ seems to do it! Every employee (Kris lounge, GAs, all flight staff) were 100% professional, helpful, and courteous. In fact, I have never seen an SQ employee in any capacity "take it out" on a customer.
I have also recently flown 4 F class flights on UA TPAC and TATL. 3 of the 4 were unacceptable in terms of service, with one of those horrendous. The only good one was the one with a non-US based crew. All the bad ones were SFO based crews.
