Crowne Plaza Resort Phoenix - Chandler Golf Resort (Master Thread)

Hi,

Has anyone else stayed at the San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler, Az over the last 6 months and had raw sewage backed up in the bath tub when they woke up in the morning?

This occured on a stay I had in November of 2007 in room 208. When I woke up in the morning the room smelled like sewage and there was about 1" of black sludge in the bottom of the bath tub. They offered a huge 5000pt certificate for the inconvience of not being able to take a shower or wash my hair before business meetings in the morning. This seemed very cheap on their part based on the nature of the issue. The hotel was sold out so they didn't have any other rooms I could take a shower in.

Many hotels would give a free night cert for this large of an inconvience during a stay. Later in an email correspondance with the rooms manager he claimed 5000pts was worth $500 and much more than a free night. Then when I asked where he came up with a value of 10cents a point he said sorry for not describing what he meant correctly and that to get 5000pts you would have to spend $500 at hotels. Just amazing.....

When I reported the sewage issue they said it started happening sometime after the construction began across the road and they did not know what to do about it.

I had a recent stay in February where they didn't properly recognize my status and also did not post any points for the stay - it did show as a qualifying night but no points.

This brought up the bad memories of the sewafe issue and so I brought it back up in an email addressed to the general manager. But the rooms manager replied instead. In responce to my question - if and how it was addressed - he just said sorry for the inconvience - nothing about if it was fixed. I then asked to have a dialog with the General Manager and she has yet to reply. The rooms manager assured me the General manager was aware of my email requesting feedback on the issue.

If I read this, I'd wonder if the OP was trying to start a flame thread. I'm not, you can look back at my FT threads and I haven't posted something like this before.

Has anyone else had raw sewage in their tub at San Marcos?

I'd like to know how wide spread this is.

If the General Manager will not reply I may contact the health department as this can't be sanitary.

Cheers.
