EVAC vs. head phone jack...

Interesting...particularly if you compare the OP's "inconvenience" with the situation that happened in Paris last month. UA eventually sent those who slid out of a 777 onto an icy tarmac with the main landing gear ablaze $150 vouchers. The were delayed for more than 24 hours, in addition to the exciting evac.
