I was directed here after your comment on the Luxury Hotels on a thread concerning hotels in Taipei.

I'm pretty much on par with many of your statements. My last stay there was in 2004, which at the time, the Regent was already on its downhill. One of my biggest gripes about this hotel was F&B and dining. Even Mrs. mjcewl1284, who almost eats anything put in front of her, had her complaints about the restaurant facilities here.

I think the last straw for me at the Regent was concerning my room television. I couldn't watch it one visit and called up for a technician. He fiddled around with it, checked the wires, no dice. So he brought up another television. Nothing there either after hook up. So he said he'd be right back. 2 hrs later, nothing. I still had a hole where the room TV used to be. I called again and asked what had happened and the lady said she would send another person up. I waited another half hour before I called back and asked for her manager/supervisor at once. I think I spouted about 10 minutes worth of choice words for him before he offered to move me to another room with a functional TV. The other room was slightly bigger and finally had a functional TV. Upon check out, the manager and I believe his boss came out to apologize for this foulup. I appreciated it but after that, I decided it was back to the SPG properties in Taipei.
