The hotel is indeed very busy, as it is located in the midst of downtown. Everyone is a paying guest, just don't expect them to treat you like a king from Saudi Arabia.
The SIN GH is a nice physical plant, but as a Diamond my customer service experience there was never special, and occasionally more along the lines of JZ Random's experience. The "we are happy to have you as a Hyatt customer" feel is definitely absent in Singapore.
There are other good hotels in SIN, (St. Regis, Sheraton, Marriott, RC, etc.) so don't be married to the Hyatt there.
