Caesars representative Doug Wilkins said Caesars Brookdale in Scotrun – the family resort of the four local Caesars properties – has been sold to Texas-based Silverleaf Resorts Inc., a hotel group specializing in time share properties.

Silverleaf will take ownership of the property July 15. However, Brookdale will close on April 28, according to Wilkins, to allow for current employees to find work elsewhere.

Wilkins said the three other Caesars resorts – Paradise Stream in Paradise Valley, Cove Haven in Lakeville and Pocono Palace in Marshalls Creek – remain up for sale. Wilkins said there have been no offers yet for the other three hotels.

Curious, why do you think your brother should be entitled to anything? There are plenty of properties that open at a different date than initially planned; close; or change brands/frequent guest affiliation.

Regardless of date booked the property did the appropriate thing by alerting him in more than enough time to make alternative arrangements.

Lastly, why do you think/feel they should stay open later? Are you privy to any financial agreements or contracts or is that just wishful thinking?
