The problem, PTravel, is that you have good genes and Max The Distance does not. Babies crying are designed, errr, evolved, to be attention grabbing. Sure they have different types of "cry", but when they need attention they demand it from everyone within earshot, and we are programmed to respond.
I also can completely tune out my wife.... and work with construction going on in the office.
