I did the same. The Barclay's/Juniper rep offered to let me keep the card for no annual fee, ever. I said I had no use for Dividend Miles. He said, but you can make a charge every 18 months to keep your miles from expiring. I said I planned to burn some miles every year which would accomplish the same thing.
Good for you guys! That's a good deal though - I'd like to keep the card and credit line on my credit history. Plus, since I'm not flying US, I'll need to 'top off' a few thousand more miles anyways to get to an even number of miles to burn on awards.
