Sleeping in Rome (FCO) airport?

Has anyone slept at the Rome airport lately to save money? I checked the sleeping in airports website and it says that they will kick you out if you try to spend the night, but I don't know how recent the information is.

We have a 6:15am flight out of FCO - seems crazy to spend Rome prices for a hotel room for such a short night's sleep.

Any tips for cheap hotels would be welcomed too. We won't have a car.

Thanks!
