AA bookings would earn BA miles, so why wouldn't an AA booking on a BA (and AA, but that wouldn't matter here) partner airline earn miles?
BA has a separate agreement with AS that I earn mileage on BA and, likewise BAEC members earn mileage on AS. AA has a similar arrangement. However, they do not have an arrangement where their partners get mileage through this agreement. It makes sense only in the wonderful world of airlines. Have you thought about seeing about an AS/BA codeshare?
