A more accurate portrayal of the person in question can be found here:
A homeless man stole thousands of pounds worth of goods and cash from passengers at Gatwick airport, while he was living rough at the terminal over a six-month period.

Anthony Delaney, 41, appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to the theft of two bags containing about £2,000 worth of cash and travellers cheques, credit cards, a mobile phone and cigarettes in September. He asked for seven other earlier similar offences to be taken into consideration.

Geoff White, defending, said Delaney was an unemployed chef who lost his live-in accommodation when he lost his job. Because he had nowhere else to go he sought shelter at Gatwick although he was technically banned from entering the airport under its bylaws.
