Actually, from inside knowledge I can tell you that CX does offer net fares from its U.S. cities (NYC, LAX, and SFO) in business. From San Francisco , it is between $2,400 and $2,500 each way. What does happen is CX will offer its net fare level for upgrades at the airport...So if you do the math $2,500 each way less $1,700 they say they paid would be the original ticket was approx $800 for the SFO HKG portion which makes sense


Out of NYC, the net works on CX 888/889 which is the one stop via YVR...I believe they have on on the nonstops but it higher from JFK
