I've noticed lots of Crocs on hospital nurses (and several pair of those running shoes with springs in the heels.)
I've never tripped in my Crocs, but have had them sort of stick to the floor and stop moving while I was propelled forward. The also sometimes partially fly off my foot when I step forward. Certainly not a safety shoe, but more so than flip flops.
I had mine on when when the Southern California fires started last fall. In the five minutes we had to grab our stuff before evacuating the first thing I did was change out of my crocs in case I had to do any serious walking/running. Stupidly, I chose a pair of medium heel backless clogs (Born) but I felt much safer and more secure in them.
My crocs are lime green with purple hippy flower jibbets. I wouldn't be caught dead in an airport in them. I mostly wear them on casual Fridays and when visiting my mother just to annoy her.
But I have seen men wearing the tan or black crocs and you hardly notice they don't have regular shoes on.
