Prachuap Khiri Khan (the province capital) is such a place that you will like for sure (and I did). Foreign tourists stay all at Hua Hin, while Prachuap has kept a very old charme. There is one good hotel in this town next to the sea, and some nice remote beaches and a technical science-park south of the city.
