Just starting to come over from being a Hilton Diamond for several years. I am in the midst of a challenge to get bumped up to Marriott's elite tiers.

You just described everything that I have been seeing at Hilton properties. Upgrades are a rare treat. Prices are going up at Hamptons (I've seen $200+ on the west coast!) and others in the chain. The benefits aren't there anymore. I can't count the number of nights my preferences have been ignored or bypassed.

The whole stays vs nights thing just got annoying.


I stayed at the Marriott Marco Island resort and was very impressed. I found it nice and it was reasonably priced. Fairfields are a decent value and CY are about where you would expect to see Hampton-like service.
